Most fire insurers will require evidence that the test has been conducted and the result is satisfactory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; How quickly can a room integrity test be arranged? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A &#8211; We can usually undertake a <a href=\"https:\/\/createdbyadam.co.uk\/aptsoundtesting\/room-integrity-testing\/\">room integrity test<\/a> within a few days of our client\u2019s enquiry; however, in the case of an emergency we do offer a 24-hour service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; How do I prepare my protected enclosure for the integrity test?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A &#8211; We send out an informative checklist with all our quotations, to help clients prepare for the integrity test.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; How long does it take to carry out a room Integrity test? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A The room integrity test usually between 1 and 2 hours for a single enclosure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; Will the enclosure integrity test set off alarms? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">No, the enclosure test is completely independent of the detection system; however the room should be isolated and the system turned to manual in-line with our <a href=\"https:\/\/createdbyadam.co.uk\/aptsoundtesting\/room-integrity-testing\/\">room integrity checklist<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; Is the room integrity test disruptive? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A &#8211; No, it is only necessary to stop access to the room for 10-15 minutes. Personnel \u2013 such as IT staff can continue to work in the room. The enclosure test can be paused if immediate access becomes required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; Does equipment such as servers need to be switched off during the room integrity test? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A \u2013 No, the servers can carry on running throughout the room integrity test.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; Does air conditioning need to be switched off during the enclosure integrity test? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A &#8211; Recirculation (chiller) units may continue to run. Air supply\/extract ducts passing into the enclosure will need have the fire dampers closed and\/or be temporarily sealed throughout the duration of the test.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; Will I get a certificate if I pass the room integrity test?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A \u2013 Yes, the certificate will be issued within a few days. This should be retained for possible inspection by the authorities\/insurers. We will verbally let you know if the enclosure test has passed or failed whilst on site.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; What happens if the room fails the room integrity test? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A \u2013 A low impact smoke test can be undertaken along with a corresponding report to identify the <a href=\"https:\/\/createdbyadam.co.uk\/aptsoundtesting\/blog\/room-integrity-test-failures-due-to-leaky-enclosures\/\">air leakage paths<\/a> for remedial sealing. \u00a0Once the remedial works have been undertaken a retest must be conducted to confirm the adequacy of the retention time along with the corresponding pass certification.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; Can remedial sealing be done at the time of the enclosure test if its initially failed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A &#8211; Yes, provided the leakage can be swiftly remedially, or temporarily, sealed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; Does APT undertake remedial sealing?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Yes, we can undertake the remedial sealing if so required, or the client can arrange the works themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; How often should the room integrity test be done? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A &#8211; The relevant British Standard (BS EN:ISO 14520) specifies that the test should be conducted within a 12-month period and\/or if any works have been undertaken to the enclosure envelope i.e., new service penetrations are made to the walls, floors, or ceilings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Q &#8211; Is there any corresponding standards for room integrity testing. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A &#8211; Yes, the following standard apply to room integrity testing: <a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.iso.org\/standard\/55340.html\">ISO 14520<\/a>, <a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.nfpa.org\/codes-and-standards\/all-codes-and-standards\/list-of-codes-and-standards\/detail?code=2001\">NFPA 2001<\/a> and <a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.iso.org\/standard\/38952.html\">ISO 15004<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7989\" src=\"https:\/\/createdbyadam.co.uk\/aptsoundtesting\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Room-Integrity-Test-6-600x451.jpg\" alt=\"Room Integrity Testing Equipment\" width=\"600\" height=\"451\" \/>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Why use us for your room integrity test?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We offer a friendly and cost-effective one stop solution for all your <a href=\"https:\/\/createdbyadam.co.uk\/aptsoundtesting\/knowledge-base\/room-integrity-testing\/the-main-reasons-for-room-integrity-test-failures\/\">integrity test requirements<\/a>.
